Personality:
Enkidu looks human, acts like a human but there’s always something about them that is a little bit off. They do not have a specific opinion about things, they do not seem to care about what others think about them and when looking at them it is difficult to determine what they really are. Just to be straight, they are the truest neutral of them all.
Still, that doesn’t mean they sit still, actually, for an introvert, Enkidu is extremely active and willful. They desire intellectual stimulation and can be extremely curious. For instance, during one of the summer events in the game the protagonist meets Enkidu locked up in a prison cell. Even though Enkidu helps the protagonist they decide they find reading the books inside their prison cell more important than their freedom. This is also a theme in their Interlude, where they gather a group of unusual servants who they study silently, wanting to know how they deal with the restrictions put on their soul (Moriarty being written as the Ultimate Villain, Nursery Rhyme being created from stories etc etc).
Thing is, this is a recurring theme in Enkidu’s previous life and their existence as a servant. They deem themselves a weapon first and foremost and actually deny all the traits of their personality that makes them quite human in the eyes of others. During their Interlude they compare themselves to a computer, their body being the hardware and the soul inhabiting it the software. They see Kingu’s (an antagonist in one of the Singularities using Enkidu’s body) existence as an example that any soul that is put inside their body besides their own can grow according to its own will.
They also explain that this is because they are a being created by the gods, when they set foot on the Earth they were already a ‘finished’ product. Initially they seem to have peace with this and are very open about their identity and purpose. Yet their behavior shows that they’re still searching (and somewhat hoping) for a way to see their soul grow in a way it grows for a human (driven by a certain amount of willpower). For instance, they utter this when you strengthen them in the game, sighing that their strength sure is growing but that their soul is still not showing any growth. In the meanwhile, everyone around Enkidu sees them as more human than they think they are. Even though they tend to say things that aren’t entirely understandable, they have built their own personality. And this is also what has been said during their Interlude. Moriarty is especially straight forward about it and just drops a truth bomb, telling Enkidu they are a fool.
Still, when communicating with Enkidu they can be awfully straightforward and direct. They say what is on their mind and they do what they want to do. If Enkidu decides it is a good day to run through a swamp on their bare feet and come in to soil your floor with muddy feet afterwards, Enkidu does just that. Their unpredictable behavior, combined with their ridiculous strength, contribute to why they are labeled ‘one of the most dangerous Servants in Chaldea’.
It is important to know that, in the beginning, they were nothing but a mindless beast without any intelligence or direction, created to bring a rebellious king called Gilgamesh back to the gods. The gods felt sorry for it and finally sent down a sacred prostitute to keep them company for 7 days and 7 nights. After regaining human wisdom they took on her form out of respect and made the choice to walk alongside humanity. By making this important choice they have lost a significant amount of their strength.
Because of their choice to walk alongside humanity they are very taken with humans, with what drives them and the stories they have. Still, what is an interesting thing to mention is that they do not consider humans important enough to be offered protection (with the exception of the human that is their Master, of course). The reason for this is that Enkidu considers themselves closer to nature, while humans consider themselves above from nature because they possess intelligence. So when a human is on fire and a tree is on fire, Enkidu will actually take care of the tree first.
Enkidu is far from a social butterfly and is perfectly able to spend their time alone. Except for their Master, no one really stands close to them. Of course it is known that Gilgamesh is their closest friend and the person who is the most important to them. Where Enkidu dragged him out of a solitary life, he gave them a heart and a sense of identity by calling them his friend. Still, what is somewhat sad (and a very Enkidu thing to do) is that they do not mention his name and when their Master asks them if they like a person they reply that there is no one like that anymore and they apologize for not being able to answer that question properly. During their Interlude this behavior becomes even more apparent where they actually decline a chance to see Gilgamesh, telling everyone that he’s humanity’s king now. It is Ishtar (of all people) who is surprised by that answer, telling them that Gilgamesh would visit them in a heartbeat if he had the chance.
That brings us to the final and last part of this personality section. Everyone would say that Enkidu resembles a calm sort of flower...well not when Ishtar is around. Ishtar is pretty much the only person who is on the receiving end of Enkidu’s hate. The second she pops up the insults come hard and fast, they go into combat mode immediately. This is apparent when Ishtar gets summoned into Chaldea and Enkidu tells you they’re going to find objects to throw at her. In their Interlude the two clash completely and start fighting one another. In fact, Enkidu even takes their time to warn their Master for her.
Powers:
Presence Detection: the ability to sense water in the ground even when there’s no sign of it anywhere, as well an ability to sense other Servants miles away from them. This will be partially nerfed. Even though they cannot sense the presence of other Servants, I would like it for them to come in really handy when traveling through a desert.
Transfiguration: basically a shapeshifting ability. They’re made of clay and never had a gender or fixed form assigned to them so they can basically change their body into everything. A beast, a weapon or the androgynous figure with Shamhat’s face they use as their default. This ability does not have to be nerfed, for kink’s sake.
Perfect Form: an ability used to heal their body. When facing a problem like a decapitated arm or foot, they simply produce new clay, using the magical energy they draw from the earth. This will be nerfed since it is closely tied to their strength.
Being Ridiculously Strong: being a divine construct (something made by gods), Enkidu possesses a lot of strength. They can easily level a village, so to speak. This will be completely nerfed. They will keep their knowledge about fighting and utilizing their body as a weapon, but they will not be able to leave ridiculous craters or anything. They will be able to put up a hell of a fight, though.
Connection to nature/communicating with animals: Enkidu is heavily connected to nature and their presence influences their environment. They are able to manipulate the earth a little (they can make flowers grow, for instance), also when they sing, nature around them sings with them. Still, it’s not some sort of Disney Princess In A Forest scene, when they sing, the ground trembles and it sounds more like a beautiful sort of roar that is too beautiful to be called beautiful. It even messes with the laws of physics and therefore that should be nerfed. Still, I would like them to be able to pop flowers from the ground and have conversations with dogs.
